What Does The Excel Center Offer?

Year-round schedule
Year-round schedule offered in five, eight-week terms to help you earn your diploma faster.
Morning and afternoon classes
Morning and afternoon classes Monday – Thursday, with Fridays available for extra help.

Highly-trained, licensed teachers facilitate learning through in-class work.
Life coaches
Life coaches who work with you on scheduling classes, setting goals, tracking graduation requirements and providing additional support.

Free college credit and industry-recognized certification courses.

How Does It Work?

1. Enrollment

Anyone who lives in Illinois and does not have a high school diploma can enroll at The Excel Center. Complete our one-step online form, call or stop by to enroll anytime.

2. Transfer Credits

If you have successfully completed high school classes at another school, you may be able to transfer your credits to The Excel Center. Coaches and registrars will review your transcripts and let you know how many may apply.

3. Orientation

Before beginning classes at The Excel Center, you will attend an orientation session to help you feel prepared. At this time, you may do some placement testing to make sure you are being scheduled in the right classes. Orientation also includes introductions to staff and fun activities to get to know other students! Child care is provided.

Certifications

Earn free certifications for high-demand careers such as Medical Assistant, Welding, IT Specialist, and more.

College Readiness

Earn free college credits, while completing classes to earn your high school diploma.

The Excel Center’s College and Career Readiness Specialists help you with:

English Language Learners

Students enrolling at The Excel Center who are not native English speakers have access to additional school supports to ensure success. Supports include in-class accommodations, small group English remediation classes and support from the school’s English Language Coordinator.

Special Education

The Excel Center offers support for students needing special education services. Students are given an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) designed to meet their needs. Each Excel Center has a special education instructor that helps make sure students have goals, service time and accommodations to ensure success.
